I grew-up in the flat and expansive state of South Dakota where I developed a passion for caring for people and changing the world one person at a time by introducing them to a guy named Jesus. Along life’s journey I’ve worked in politics, championed environmental causes, empowered teenagers, and have served for two decades in pastoral ministry where I’ve attempted to build bridges in difficult places in a way that transforms.
I studied politics at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and began my MDiv at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Mn. I’ve continued my learning and growth through rich relationships with people from a spectrum of places and backgrounds, both in the United States and around the world.
The loves of my life are my wife, Ann, whom I’ve been married 25 years and our three kids, Alyssa, Fletcher, and Kaya. Finally, I see myself as a bit of a renaissance man enjoying a variety of hobbies and interests whose only connection is my need for adventure and desire for learning.
